Not Brown Ale????

I ordered a pint of that Nut Brown Ale from Redhook at Hop Devil Grill. This is an unusual brew. It is very different from the New Castle Brown...True no 2 beers should taste the same. However, Redhook is definitely off the code with their "Not Brown Ale". I am saying it is bad, in fact it is pretty decent. It is just not the Nut Brown Ale that I am familiar with. Here's how I would analyze this brew.

Red Hook Me Up

Appearance – Nice mahogany color with a nice float of head.

Smell – The toasty malts are spiked with a hint of almondy aromas.

Taste – The malts are very creamy but not taste of nut. More like AzianBrewer's own Jazmin Ale.

Mouthfeel – The mouthfeel left behind a clean after taste. A bit weak of carbonation.

Drinkability – The name is a false advertisement....the taste is exceptional.
